The department have been favored with Rs. 838:00 lakhs approved by the SLPIC for construction of the Directorate complex at New Secretariat Complex, out of which Rs. 178 lakhs is earmarked for release during 2008-09 under SPA. The approval of Rs. 838:00 lakhs is made with the condition that the project is completed within a period of 2 years.
The work has taken off and is progressing very rapidly. The achievement for Sept / Oct 2008 is visible in the accompanying photographs and it is anticipated that the project would be completed by end of 2009-2010.
The department anticipates a favorable allocation under the State Plan for 2009-2010 in order to complete the project within the time frame given. The statement of funds over the year for the project is shown in the statement below:
